Dr. Jennifer Walden is proud to offer ThermiSmooth™ to treat the face and body. ThermiSmooth delivers temperature-controlled radio frequency to the targeted area. ThermiSmooth can rejuvenate that face as well as reduce cellulite on the body. Two of the procedures that can be performed are ThermiSmooth Face and ThermiSmooth Body.
Thermismooth™
ThermiSmooth™ is performed using a specially designed thermistor regulated handpiece, which is supplied with the Thermi250™ system. ThermiTouch delivers precise heating to the skin’s surface. ThermiSmooth treatments are gentle and patients often say it feels like receiving a warm massage. ThermiSmooth is usually done in the periorbital area (around the eyes) including the brow area for a bit of a brow lift as well as the upper and lower lids for a nonsurgical lift.
Also, a larger applicator may be applied for other areas of the upper face such as festoons and cheeks to help tighten and lift by thermal radiofrequency energy. Dr. Walden is the first and only practice in Austin to offer ThermiSmooth treatments.
How Thermismooth™ Works
After applying a small amount of coupling gel, the ThermiSmooth™ handpiece is applied to the skin’s surface. The Thermi250™ system is set to a specific target temperature (i.e.., 42°C – 45°C). The hand piece is gently moved in a sweeping or circular fashion while gradually heating up the skin surface. As the skin’s temperature rises to the targeted temperature, the Thermi250 computer automatically adjusts the energy output to ensure precision of heating. A small zone is treated for about 5 minutes to achieve the goal of sustained heating to the target tissues. Treatments are repeated several times to achieve the desired cosmetic result.
What Is Thermismooth Face?
ThermiSmooth Face is a controlled non-invasive tissue heating treatment. It is performed using a unique temperature controlled hand piece that emits radio frequency energy. The handpiece is gentle and heats the skin’s surface softly using dermal heating.
What Areas of the Face Can Be Treated?

What Is Thermismooth Body?
ThermiSmooth Body is a temporary solution that reduces cellulite. The treatment is performed by targeting areas under the skin with unwanted cellulite. Gentle heating is used using temperature controlled radiofrequency energy, to stimulate collagen remodeling to occur.
What Areas of the Body Can Be Treated?
ThermiSmooth Body can treat the upper body and the lower body. Specifically, it can treat the abdomen, flanks, back, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, calves and ankles.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients will follow through a series of 3-6 applications for ThermiSmooth Face and 4-6 applications for ThermiSmooth Body to see their desired results. Treatments are applied over a 6-8 week timespan. After each application, patients will see a decrease in fat and an increase in the firmness of the face and skin.
Are There Side Effects?
Expected procedure side effects may include transient pain in procedure area, erythema and edema.
What Is the Recovery Process?
The recovery process is low-impact, there are no stitches, and no downtime and a speedy recovery.
