SmartGraft can be used on both male and female patients for hair restoration. Dr. Jennifer Walden uses the SmartGraft system because it protects the extracted hair follicles between extraction and implantation. The entire process takes about five to six hours so it is important to have a system that can cool and moisten the follicles during this waiting period.
Am I a Smartgraft Candidate?
The ideal candidate for this procedure would be a healthy male or female with a large number of follicles per square centimeter in a specific donor area. Typically this donor area will be in the occipital area of the scalp. Hair growth is denser in this area and can easily be extracted.
